Jesus our Lord loves to speak in parables and takes pleasure in using allegories and hidden statements to convey His messages. In Matthew 17:22-23, He used an allegory saying: “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up.” The word “kill” means “to shed blood.” What Jesus said in what we read can be rephrased as: “the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, and they will shed His blood, and the third day He will be raised up.”
Jesus in this passage of scripture was giving His disciples the blood that He would later shed on the cross as a key to the supernatural. Friend, if you are to understand the power that is in the blood of Jesus, you will never walk in fear, in defeat, or be weak in faith. No devil, no demon, no witchcraft spirit, no satanic weapon will be able to succeed in its operations against you when you grasp the revelation of the power of the blood.
One of the most efficacious weapons we have as Christians against the enemy is the blood of Jesus. The truth is you have a spiritual enemy. You have an enemy who is unseen, whom according to John 10:10 when he gets the chance will steal your health, kill you and destroy your life. Because you have an enemy, you need a weapon that is able to defeat that enemy and the blood of Jesus does just that. Demons recognize the power of the blood of Jesus. Satan Himself is afraid of the blood of Jesus so in Revelation 12:11, John the Apostle wrote that: “we overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the lamb…”
The first thing I want you to know about the blood of Jesus is that it has the power to cleanse you from every kind of sin no matter how chronic and despicable a sin it is. In Hebrew culture, leprosy was considered the worst kind of sin, and God instructed the priest to sprinkle the blood of an animal to cleanse the disease. It doesn’t matter how chronic, how despicable, how vile your sins might be, the blood of Jesus is able to cleanse it. Christ’s blood is so powerful that it removes every mark and blemish of sin
The second thing you must know about the blood of Jesus is that it protects you, your family and all that pertains to you. This reminds me of The Passover that marked Israel’s deliverance from Egypt’s bondage. God instructed Moses to request the Israelites to take a lamb for each household and kill the lamb and apply the blood of the lamb on the two side posts of the doors of their houses. This ensured that the death angel passed over them when it saw the blood. If the blood of an animal was able to protect a family, the Israelites, how much more would the powerful blood of Jesus not protect you?
The third thing to know about the blood of Jesus is that it speaks. The blood has a voice. There are times when people conspire, connive and scheme against you. When there is nobody to speak for you, the blood would. When people snitch on you at work, the blood would speak for you. When people plan against you, the blood will speak for you.
Do you remember in Genesis 4:10: after Cain murdered Abel, God said to Cain: “what have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries to Me from the ground.” Think about it: if the blood of an ordinary man cried to God from the ground and He did something about it, how much more will He not respond to the precious and powerful blood of His only begotten Son when it cries to Him on your behalf. Just like the blood of Abel which speaks the blood of Jesus also speaks. The good thing about it is the blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel. I activate the voice of the blood of Jesus to begin speaking on your behalf. Where you need a lawyer, may He speak for you! Where you need a spokesperson may He speak for you! In your absence when people meet to discuss you and seek your hurt, may the blood speak on your behalf! Plead the blood over your life, family, loved ones, job and possessions. Friend, the blood speaks!
