GIVING: KEY TO THE SUPERNATURAL

For sometime now, I have been sharing with you from the theme: The Keys To The Supernatural, and what I have been doing as the Holy Spirit directs me is showing you how to operate the keys Jesus gave His disciples to gaining access to the supernatural realm. In His supremacy, Jesus used every opportunity He deemed appropriate to give His disciples a key, one key at a time, to accessing the supernatural realm.
The supernatural realm as you are aware is where the goodies of the Kingdom of Heaven are stored. The goodies of health, financial prosperity, peace of mind and total wellbeing are all stored in the supernatural realm. To benefit from these goodies requires that you gain access to the supernatural realm, and it takes certain keys to accessing the supernatural. So far I have travelled through Matthew chapter 16 and 17 with you by giving and teaching on the key of prayer, fasting, faith, words, and releasing your faith as keys Jesus gave His disciples to accessing the supernatural.
Today, I want us to look at the next key He taught on and that is, Giving. In Matthew 17:27, He told Peter: “go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it…” (NKJV). Whether an angel put the money in the mouth of the fish I do not know. Whether the fish picked the coin put could not swallow it and kept it in its mouth, I do not know. Whether His omnipotence put it there, or His omniscience knew it was there, I do not know. But one thing I know: Jesus is teaching that giving always brings a miracle.
Giving has the ability to make the giver access the supernatural realm. Giving gives the you the ability to experience uncommon and unusual miracles. It is uncommon to find money in the mouth of a fish; call it miracle money. I have noticed that the uncommon, unusual and unfamiliar miracles recorded in the Scriptures were for the most part provoked and triggered by uncommon, unusual and unfamiliar giving.
Notice that Jesus was very specific where the money to be given should come from: The Sea! What was Peter’s profession? A fisherman! Where do fishermen work? At sea! That’s important. In this context, the sea represents Peter’s place of work, his profession, livelihood or source of income. Whatever money God calls you to give to Him must come from your sea: your place of work; your source of income. Notice also that Jesus instructed Peter to “cast a hook.” Casting a hook involves some activity and work. He further instructed Peter to “take the fish.” The reward for working at sea is the fish you take/catch.
What Jesus implied is that: every follower of His who wants to access the supernatural must understand the importance of giving. And what the person needs to do is to go to their place of work (sea); do some work (cast a hook); and take the first of the reward (take the first fish); and give it. In economic terms, the reward you get for working is your income. However, before you call the whole of your income yours, God says you must first give to Him, and the first He requires is your tithe, which is ten percent of your reward/income. Your tithe is your firstfruit and He requires it before anything else. Hence, when you receive an income, God says only 90% is yours, and the remaining 10% is His.
God wants to bless you but it is hard for Him to trust someone who does not know what it means to honor Him with their tithe with true financial prosperity. In Luke 16:11, Jesus said: “if you have not been faithful in the righteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?” If you can’t be faithful with your tithe and with giving first to God, according to the above scripture verse, He cant trust you with true riches. If you pray often; fast often; have faith; and confess His Word, but you’re not a faithful and generous giver, you short circuit your ability to be blessed by Him and to access the supernatural.
