ANOINTED WITH SUPERHUMAN ABILITY

There is a limit to what the human strength can do. When you depend on your strength and abilities alone, it will be barely, if not impossible to make it and to succeed. In First Samuel 2 verse 9, we learn that “by strength shall no flesh prevail.” Also, in Philippians 4:13, Paul reveals that as believers we “can do all things through Christ who strengthens” us. This means that without some kind of outside help, and without the assistance of some supernatural and superhuman power, you will not be able to accomplish much in life. Your limit is God’s starting point.
The superhuman power of God on an individual makes a great difference. When the extra special ability of God comes on you, it empowers you and enables you to do that which is humanly impossible. This brings to mind how the young lady Mary was empowered by God to do that which was humanly impossible. The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said; “behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus” (Luke 1:31). Mary responded; “how can this be, since I do not know a man?” (Luke 1:34; NKJV).
In Mary’s mind, it is absolutely impossible for a woman to be pregnant without the help of a man. The angel replied; “the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you…” (Luke 1:35; NKJV). In effect, the angel was telling Mary that, human power won’t be able to do this, but the superhuman ability of God, when it comes on an individual enables the person to do that which is humanly impossible. To seal the argument, the angel Gabriel added; “for with God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37; NKJV).
This again reminds me of an incident in the life and ministry of the Prophet Elijah. He ordered King Ahab to ride as fast as he could on a horse whilst he run on foot. The Bible reveals that the superhuman ability and power of God came on Elijah and he run pass Ahab who was riding swiftly on a horse. “Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his lions and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel” (1 Kings 18:46; NKJV). How on earth can a man run faster than a horse? It is inconceivable, yet when the super of God came on Elijah’s natural, the super-natural was created, which empowered him to do that which was humanly impossible.
Probably, in your life as it is now, there might be certain things that you deem impossible. Maybe, as a result of what a doctor told you. Maybe due to the debt you owe, and when you look at your income, it seem as though it is impossible. But friend, what is impossible with men is always possible with God. God’s superhuman power can deliver you out of debt, out of the clutch of sickness and out of the grasp of any power of darkness. In this year of the Supernatural, I encourage you to trust Him for His ’super.’ His ‘super’ brings an ability, which enables you to do the extraordinary. The Apostle Paul tells us that God is “able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (NKJV).
As the New Year unfolds, I would like to encourage you to stretch your faith to believe God for His hand to rest upon you to be able to do that which looks impossible. Notice that in Elijah’s instance, he received a superhuman ability when the hand of God came upon him. The hand of God is a metaphor for the anointing and as you are aware the anointing signifies His power. There is one thing that must happen when the hand of God comes upon you — a superhuman ability must come on you. when the hand of the Lord came upon Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones, a superhuman power came upon him to do the extraordinary. May the hand of the Lord come on you to also do the unusual.
